Decks & Outdoor Living

A Deck That Adds Living Space — and Survives New Jersey Weather

A deck done right adds a room to your home for a fraction of an addition's cost. Done wrong, it rots from the ledger board out and becomes a liability. We build decks the way the coast demands: engineered footings below the frost line, flashed and sealed connections, and framing sized for real loads — not just code minimums.

From composite low-maintenance builds to classic pressure-treated frames with cable rail, every deck starts with a site visit, a clear written estimate, and a permit plan. You'll know the schedule before we dig the first footing.

Deck Building — Straight Answers

How long does a new deck take to build?

Most decks take one to three weeks on site once permits are approved. We give you a written schedule at the estimate and tell you immediately if anything changes it.

Composite or wood — which should I choose?

Composite costs more up front but nearly eliminates maintenance, which matters near the shore. Pressure-treated wood is budget-friendly but needs sealing every couple of years. We'll price both so you can decide with real numbers.

Do I need a permit for a deck in New Jersey?

Almost always, yes. We handle the drawings and inspections as part of the job — an unpermitted deck can stall a home sale and void insurance claims.
